What Did We Do This Year?

As we say goodbye to this school year and plan for next year, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what our PTA did in the past 12 months. We were not able to meet in person at all, so many events could not happen. However, we worked to come up different new ways to continue existing programs, and find new things to try to engage our wonderful Canyon Creek community.

• Art Docent Program - art lessons for ALL students
• Spelling Bee - open for all 3rd-5th grade students
• Food Drive benefiting our local Woodinville StoreHouse Food Bank
• Helping Hands - benefiting our school families that needed a little extra support this year
• Thanksgiving meals
• Winter break food boxes & holiday wishlist gifts
• Grocery gift cards for mid-winter, spring and summer break
• Popcorn Fridays - popcorn sent home for every student
• DEI Windows & Mirrors Book Drive - hosted a book drive to help diversify our school classrooms and library by suggesting books for purchase (collected 153 books so far, as of June 19, 2021)
• Reflections - national art competition - open to all students
• STEM Fair - sharing virtual STEM fair projects, created by students at home - open to all students
• Staff Appreciation - showing appreciation to Canyon Creek staff with some wonderful small thank you items as well as food
• Virtual Scavenger Hunt - providing a fun virtual way for families and friends to complete specific missions
