What Happened at Legislative Assembly? What an engaging and enriching weekend in Bellevue, as delegates from across the state attended the 41st Annual WSPTA Legislative Assembly to learn, collaborate, debate, and ultimately vote on a variety of legislative principles, issues, and resolutions. Dear Canyon Creek Families,  We have an opportunity to bring books to families needing assistance within our Canyon Creek Community. Scholastic calls it 'All For Books'. November 6th through December 6th , send any loose change or dollar bills with your student to class in a marked envelope with their name and teacher. Your student will be given an “All for Books Donation Book Slip” that they will write their name on and all donation slips will be proudly displayed in the library hallway. Washington State Car Seat Laws are Changing!
Important information about the car seat laws going into effect on January 1st, 2020!  The revised car seat law will require the following: Children up to age 2 must be properly secured in a rear-facing car seat. Children ages 2-4 must be properly secured in a car seat with a harness (rear or forward facing). Children 4 and older and less than four feet nine inches tall must be secured in a booster seat with seat belt (or continue in harness seat). Student Council Warm Sock Drive
Student Council - Warm Sock Drive! The Canyon Creek PTA Student Council met the week of October 28th and decided to host a Warm Sock Drive to benefit the  New Bethlehem Center (a local homeless shelter). Each classroom will have a box available for donations of NEW SOCKS from November 12th to November 15th . The class with the most socks collected will win the honor of hosting the Spirit Coyote in their room until November 22nd - during which time they can dress it up, take photos with it, etc! ... read full article

Canyon Creek Elementary  Arrival & Dismissal Times In Northshore school district, we have early release Wednesdays. These are days when students are released 1 1/2 hours early to allow for teacher planning, collaboration & meetings. Update about Screening Day Vision and Hearing Screening Day was a great success. Thank you to our volunteers! It's a fast-paced fun day and is of great service to our Canyon Creek students. Screening day is step one in the screening process. Some students are screened by the nurse or audiologist a second time with different equipment and environment if the first screening is not successful.
