Canyon Creek PTA 2020 STEM Fair

Canyon Creek PTA has reviewed the timeline for this event, keeping in mind that we are not sure when students will return to school. Between the STEM Fair registration, delivering tri-fold boards, etc, we have decided that its probably best to cancel this event in April.

However, we do plan to combine it with the STEM Night that was recently rescheduled for Friday, May 15th - making a STEM EXTRAVAGANZA event! Please watch for updates in the next several week. 

All Canyon Creek Families Invited!

This event is open to ALL families to attend, even if they do not present anything at the fair. Come explore, see what friends have put together, learn, and most importantly-- have fun!!

Present at the Fair

This is an opportunity for ANY Canyon Creek student to complete a STEM-related project, display it and discuss their findings with their peers, parents and teachers. Let’s get our kids engaged in science, technology, engineering and math! Add an art component to make it a STEAM-related project!

Rules:

• Any Canyon Creek student can participate (grades K-5). Students can work in a group, if desired.
• Upon registration, a poster display board, information packet/resource list will be provided.
• Projects can encompass any topic relating to science, technology, engineering, math and/or art. Ideas include creating a diorama, demonstrating a principle, presenting a collection, engineering a new design, conducting and reporting an experiment, coding a program, displaying an apparatus, etc.
• Students should do their own work with minimal supervision/assistance from parents.
• By registering, students are committing to participating and parents are committing to getting their child(ren)/projects to STEM night.
• Projects must be delivered to the gym on (date TBD). There will be tables setup by grade, for students to display their projects! If you needed electricity, please talk to a volunteer to find out where you should be.

If you are unable to sign up online, you may instead fill out a form (being sent home with students) and return to classroom teacher or the school office.

Resources

To help your child explore ideas, we have partnered with the Canyon Creek Library. The librarians will be setting up a section of books dedicated for the STEM fair. Please have your child talk to the librarian if interested in checking out these books.
