The 14th annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2021. Joined by the international community, hundreds of thousands of landmarks, buildings, homes and communities around the world come together on April 2 to Light It Up Blue in recognition of people with autism and those who love and support them.
In 2007, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day (A/RES/62/139), to highlight the need to help improve the quality of life of those with autism so they can lead full and meaningful lives as an integral part of society.
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.
