Canyon Creek PTA Spelling Bee Update!


Wow, Canyon Creek Coyotes have some fabulous spellers. 
On February 1st, we had 32 students participate in our virtual Spelling Bee.  
All spellers did incredible and deserve a HUGE round of applause.

On February 13th, the students that tied for first place had their second round test!
Our champion won by only 2 points!!

Congratulations to Canyon Creek 2021 Spelling Bee Champion,
5th grade Canyon Creek student, Noorpreet Kaur.

Noorpreet is the Canyon Creek Spelling Bee Champion
and will represent Canyon Creek on March 21st
in the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee of King and Snohomish County.

We are so proud of Noorpreet and all of our amazing student spellers.
 
 
Some incredible details:
  • 3 students (one in 3rd grade, one in 4th grade and one in 5th grade) tied for 1st place with a score of 49 words correct!  (see note below about how we will determine who will move on to the regional competition)
  • 2 students (one in 3rd grade, one in 5th grade) tied with a score of 48 words correct!
  • 1 student in 4th grade got 47 words correct! 
  • All fantastic students had 50 words to spell in a 1hr time limit.
