Outstanding Educator Award: Recognizes an individual educator who goes beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging for students.

Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

“Ms. McGrew brings an amazing energy and enthusiasm to the classroom, always keeping the feelings and needs of her students at the forefront.”

“...she always welcomes everyone to the classroom so warmly and makes sure to talk and work with each kid based on the kid's comfort level. I never even imagined an online kindergarten experience would have been so amazing. I wonder how amazing it would have been had my kid been in person with Ms. Grew. Hats off to her! Forever grateful to Ms. McGrew for making kindergarten amazing for my son and giving him a great start for learning. “

“She does a wonderful job to grab the kid's attention and connect with the kids through zoom too. Great kindergarten teacher! A great teacher to support Diversity within the class and introduce kids to different cultures.”

Outstanding Educator: Tina Vaughan

Tina Vaughan surprised after a walk to a school family's home!
Ms. Vaughan is a 5th grade teacher at Canyon Creek Elementary.

Outstanding Educator Award: Recognizes an individual educator who goes beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial, and challenging for students.

Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

“For many years she has gone above and beyond helping all students at CC. She greets them every morning with a smile in tears past and a wave now, as they get off the buses and wish them a great day. Then she sees them off, back into the buses at the end of a day with a friendly goodbye. Over the years she has covered the cost of not just many things in her classroom, but for all of the fifth graders during picnics, parties, and other celebrations. A lot of what she does may not be noticed by a lot of people as she tends to do things quietly and behind the scenes. She is a wonderful teacher and everyone at CC is lucky to have her at our school.”

Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

“Nicole quietly serves, she is amazing. Communications are so informative, accurate and detailed.”

“Nicole does not want to be in the spotlight, likes to be super involved and is constantly thinking of ways to engage and communicate more efficiently and effectively with our school community.  She is always the one you can ask to help out and she will.  She is a dedicated volunteer and is so needed in our community and PTA.”

“Nicole does so much work behind the scenes and spends countless hours on communication and advocacy to ensure our school community is aware of all the wonderful programs and activities Canyon Creek PTA offers.”

"Congratulations Nicole! Your work ethic and diligence is a true inspiration to us all. This award is so deserving!"
