Earth Hour 2020 - Take Part!

Earth Hour 2020 is Saturday, March 28th, 8:30-9:30pm, local time.

Something we can do TOGETHER to celebrate the Earth, while maintaining social distancing,
is to participate in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28th.

The purpose of this world-wide event is to encourage individuals, communities,
and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

This small action shows our commitment to our planet,
raising awareness of energy consumption and its effects on the environment.

The event started in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and was created by World Wide Fund for Nature.
Since then, it has grown to more than 7,000 cities and towns across 187 countries and territories!!

Won’t you join us in celebrating our Earth?

Here are some ideas for participation:
* Lights out for the "Earth Hour" event (8:30-9:30pm)
* Play a board game by candlelight/lantern
* Have dinner by candlelight/lantern

Find lots of other ideas for how to participate here.

Activities do NOT have to be only during the official Earth Hour
(recognizing that some families would like to participate with younger kids) -
anything reducing electricity usage is awesome!!
