If you are interested in helping families in our community, here are some ideas of things you could volunteer for (provided by Northshore Schools Foundation).
Food Delivery:
Volunteers are needed to assist with site delivery of lunches for our families. The biggest need is on Fridays when the district is providing weekend meals as well as daily meals for our families. Sign up for what interests you here.
Host a Book Drive:
We are working hard to make books available to students who need them in this time when libraries are closed and access to books is a even more diminished than normal. This is a great time to clean out your bookshelves and repurpose children's books from collecting dust to helping students who need them. You can organize a book drive in your neighborhood or with your friends, arrange to pick up and bring to our collection site. It would really help. How to help.
Fill the Food Pantry:
There are several food pantries that need your donations right now. You can shop for a few things extra or arrange a food drive in your neighborhood for the biggest bang for your buck.Here's one list of what is needed most.
