Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!

For back to school information from the school district, follow the Northshore School District Facebook page for daily countdown messages leading up to the first day of school - about resources available to you and your student!

Information from the Northshore School District Back to School Resources page:

  • First Day of School

    • 1st - 5th grades: Wednesday, September 6th
    • Kindergarten: Monday, September 11th*
      • Note that Kindergarten families will be invited to have personal meetings with their teachers to build relationships for a successful year.  Families will be contacted in August to schedule those individual meetings on 9/6, 9/7 or 9/8.  The family lists are supported through the state's WaKIDS kindergarten transition program, linked to full-day kindergarten funding.
  • Transportation Information

    • Bus stop location information (E-Link) will available online beginning August 28th.  Find the E-Link under the Bus Stop Information tab on the left side of the page (https://www.nsd.org/nsdtransportation).
Select the student's grade, enter the full address including zip code and click "Find school/transportation Info." Please revist E-Link periodically for any updated route information.
    • Please note that students are required to be at their bus stop five minutes in advance of the posted bus arrival time. During the first two weeks of school, we appreciate your patience as buses may be running late while drivers and families get acquainted with the routes.
    • EAP, AAP and Special Education will be notified individually after transportation forms have been submitted.
    •  Please contact Transportation, 425-408-7900, if you need assistance accessing bus stops or have questions..
  • School Supplies

    • School supply lists for all elementary schools are available online. Parents/guardians needing assistance with backpacks and school supplies for their children should contact the nurse at their child's school.
  • Northshore Interactive Menus / Food Services

    • Northshore families are able to take a closer look at school menus with the district’s My School Menus system. With My School Menus online, accessible without a username or password, families can:
      • View nutritional facts
      • Filter by allergens
      • See menu updates and substitutions
      • Read and print translations
      • Download a menu app
      • Print menus for any grade level
      • View menu items for secondary students
    • My School Menus allows families to print menus for elementary, middle and high school students – or simply view them online.
    • The meal payment system will not change; families will continue to use PayPAMS or pay at the school by cash or check. See the Meal Payment web page for more payment information.
    • Visit the Food Services homepage for more information on the program.
  • Immunization Update

    • Although summer isn't quite over yet, now is the time to get kids in to see their health care providers for required immunization, yearly well-child checks and sports physicals. Students who are not in compliance with required vaccines may be kept out of school if a disease epidemic occurs. Download the Washington State Department of Health's list of required immunizations for the 2017-18 school year (English  | Spanish). Read the Department of Early Learning blog: Look Ahead, Be Prepared: Immunization Update)
  • ParentVUE - Portal for Parents

    • Northshore implemented a new parent portal called ParentVUE in August 2015. ParentVUE allows parents to access their children's attendance, class schedules, health conditions information, course history, graduation status, demographic information and more. Visit the ParentVUE webpage for more information, including instructions on how to set up an account.
  • Download the Mobile App

    • Download the app to view news, calendars, menus and more, but families can take the additional step of logging in to access a wealth of individual student information and school notifications. Families will be able to follow their students' schools, track lunch balances, see checked out library books, access grades and attendance, and much more! Visit the Mobile App webpage for more information and instructions.
