First Day of School Information

Canyon Creek Elementary, 2018-19

First Day of School:

• 1st through 5th grades: Wednesday, September 5th
• Kindergarten: Monday, September 10th OR Tuesday, September 11th
• NSD will have a staggered start for kindergarteners - where some still start Monday and some will start Tuesday. Canyon Creek will be informing families of when their kindergarten students will be starting school. More info on NSD website or school website. Update 8/27: Teacher assignment letters have been mailed - which includes the start date for your kindergartener - if you didn't get one, please call or visit the office.
• Note that Kindergarten families will be invited to have personal meetings with their teachers to build relationships for a successful year.  Families will be contacted in August to schedule those individual meetings on 9/5, 9/6 or 9/7. The family meetings are supported through the state's WaKIDS kindergarten transition program, linked to full-day kindergarten funding. Update 8/27: The teacher letters should have information about how to setup these family meetings!!

School Day Hours:

Time have shifted 5 minutes EARLIER than last year. 

• Drop-off Begins: 8:45 a.m. (this stays the same as last year)
• Start: 9:00 a.m.
• End: 3:30 p.m. 
• Wednesday Early Release: 2:00 p.m.   (Note: September 5th is NOT an early release day!)
